・Important things = Those without which you would die
・Not important things = Those without you could still stay alive
Let's affectionately call the man the "Life–or–Death Uncle."
The Life–or–Death Uncle cannot understand.
Why would one value things categorized in the latter group so much.
Continuing to visit a used bookstore by cutting down on food expenses,
or giving up a stable life to make movies.
He can never comprehend these feelings of people.
There's another similar uncle.
He categorizes everything in the world into two groups:
・Important things = Those without which your heart would die
・Not important things = Those without which you could still live
Let's affectionately call him the "Heart–Life–or–Death Uncle."
He, on the other hand, categorizes reading books and watching movies into the former group.
The Heart–Life–or–Death Uncle cannot understand.
How one can overlook things categorized in the former group.
He can never fathom someone in the world
living without those moments when a passage in a book transforms the usual scenery,
or without the feeling after leaving the movie theater speechless with the climax.
However, both uncles are adults.
Both think, “Well, I guess there are people like that.”
